LETTER FROM THE SUPERVISOR

Dear Members,

I hope everyone is having a great summer! We certainly are busy at the PSTC. First let me give you a renovation update. As of the printing of this month's newsletter, the roof has been completed and they have started to put the new sides on the building. It will take about three weeks for the entire project to be completed. After the completion of the building renovations, we will start construction on the new atrium (front entrance), which is scheduled to be finished this fall. The bids for the clay court irrigation renovations closed on June 22, with work beginning sometime in July.

The second leg of the PSU Grand Prix was held June 24 and 25. Once again, there was a lot of great tennis, food, and fun. I have never seen so many close three set matches and the competition was fantastic. Remember, if you decide to play in two divisions, it means a lot of tennis over the weekend. July's Grand Prix will be held July 28-30. We plan on starting play Friday evening to help alleviate so many matches being played on Saturday and Sunday. Sign up now at the Pro Shop desk.

In this month's newsletter, you will find information on three new programs we wil be offering this summer. Ladies Flex (singles) League, Men's Doubles Clinic and Round Robin, and Women's Doubles Clinic and Round Robin. Please review the information and sign up at the Pro Shop desk.

Team Tennis is going very well with most of the matches being very competitive. As you all are aware, we are eating at the Tennis Center instead of at Sarni. It is much more convenient and has a more spacious area to eat and socialize within.

In closing, I hope everyone has had a chance to try out our new furniture in the lounge area. It certainly is a big improvement to our facility's interior furnishings. Have a safe and fun filled summer. Please feel free to discuss any concerns or issues with me or any of our staff.

Sincerely,

Eric Dove
Supervisor, USPTA
