Annual Meetings
University of Iowa, 2009
Conference Agenda
January 21, 2009
Dear CIC Colleagues,
Hello from snowy and cold Iowa City! Even though it’s cold now, before too long it will be spring and time for the Big 10 Advising Administrators CIC Conference. We at the University of Iowa are looking forward to hosting you all. We promise to avoid a flood this spring!
The date for this spring’s meeting will be Wednesday, April 29Friday, May 1. This is the same time frame we have used the past several years, so we hope it will continue to work well for everyone.
We have reserved rooms at the Sheraton in downtown Iowa Citythe rate is $139 per night. You can make reservations through the hotel by calling (319) 337-4058. Make sure and tell them you are with the Big 10 CIC Conference for Advising Administrators. I know it’s a mouthful but we think there might be another CIC group in town during the same time! Here is a link to the hotel website for further information:

This initial email is going out to those attendees from last year’s conference. If there are others on your campus who should receive this, please let us know or forward this to them. We want to make sure that this gets to the right people on your campuses. Per the guidelines set up several years ago, we hope that each institution can send three attendees. If your institution wants to send more than three people, let us know. We may need to negotiate the costs for the extra guests. For you Badgers, I wasn’t sure who to send it to since so many of you were there last year. I included several of you so you will need to fight it out I guess!
We will send out another email soon detailing how to register for the conference and outlining when and where you can offer suggestions for topics.
For those of you who are not familiar with how to get to Iowa City, the two closest airports are the Cedar Rapids airport (~30 minutes away) and the Moline Airport (~60 minutes away). Both airports have rental cars available. I have also included some links below for shuttle or taxi service.
We look forward to seeing you this spring and hope you are all staying warm and doing well!
Sincerely,
Lisa
