How are advising units using social networking sites (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter) or course management software (Blackboard, WebCt, homegrown systems) to extend outreach and interaction with students? What are the benchmarks/criteria for success and how are you assessing success?
Will your advising staff receive salary increases this year? If so, what will be the percentage increase? (This could be a distributed survey rather than a discussion at the meeting.)
Who typically conducts major department advising at your institution? (faculty or lecturers? student services staff? administrative support personnel?) How are central advising administrators/units connected to major department advising? What kinds of support, training, information dissemination, and continuing education are you providing?

Admitting students to pursue second bachelor's degrees. I am seeing a large increase in demand and wonder how other schools treat this pool of applicants, any policies that apply, and whether there is a distinction between students earning sequential bachelor's degrees or simultaneous degrees. How do we handle the increasing demand for internship credit, especially among undeclared students? How many of us have internship offices? Have a course designation for non-departmental internships? Require an "instructor of record" to submit a grade?

Does anyone else out there have part time advisors (i.e., 1/2time, 3/4time)? If so, do you experience any problems in regard to FLSA or other issues?
I don't know if there's any interest in this but I don't recall doing the benchmark thing lately.
