Educational Planning Survey: Results
The Educational Planning Survey (EPS) is administered annually to over 13,000 entering Penn State students. Each year, the Division of Undergraduate Studies uses the EPS data to generate reports showing the characteristics of entering Penn State students in various subgroups.
The charts displayed on this Web site provide information about new, first-year students admitted toEPS data from 13,559 first-year students admitted in summer and fall 2004, including 5,937 students admitted to the University Park campus and 7,622 students admitted to other locations, were analyzed for these charts. Because some students did not answer every question on the EPS, most charts include a "no reply" section to indicate the number of omitted responses. (Note: In 1999, the no reply sections of the charts included new, first-semester students who did not submit an EPS at all; beginning in 2000, students who did not submit an EPS were eliminated entirely from the data and the accompanying charts.)
- the University Park campus only,
- other campus locations (the campuses of the Abington, Altoona, Behrend, Berks-Lehigh Valley, Capital, and Commonwealth Colleges), and
- all Penn State undergraduate campus locations combined.
The 2004 EPS data were compiled on September 17, 2004.
