It can be exciting to study a single idea, place, or time from many perspectives at once. Consider these and many other possible “themes” when you plan your Gen Ed courses and other course selections. Make your own kind of music!

You could develop a theme around an area of the world, such as Japan or East Asia, Latin America, Africa, Australia, etc. Choose courses about that area from history, comparative literature, religious studies, geography, foreign language, anthropology, political science, and more.

  • If you did Japan, for example, you could choose from:
