MIDSEMESTER EVALUATION REPORT
(Senate Policy
47-70)
Read about the pilot program for an online eLion Early Progress Report being tested fall 2008.
First-year students (degree candidates with less than 28 cumulative credits) and provisional students are notified if their performance in a course (or courses) is not satisfactory.
UNIVERSITY PARK
In the sixth week of the semester, faculty will receive forms for reporting to the Registrar all first-year and provisional students demonstrating unsatisfactory performance. Unsatisfactory performance is used here to mean all grades below C.
By the eighth week, a letter will be sent by the Registrar to each student with unsatisfactory grades. At University Park, copies go to the student's appropriate dean for distribution to the student's adviser(s) and to appropriate learning support program offices.
OTHER CAMPUSES
Some campuses use the procedures described above to provide midsemester first-year evaluations. If so, the campus Registrar receives the midsemester evaluation reports from the University Registrar and disperses them appropriately. Other campuses use their own systems, which meet or exceed the requirements specified by senate legislation.
The University may make changes in policies,
procedures, educational offerings, and requirements at any time. Please
consult a Penn State academic adviser for more detailed information.
