MULTIPLE-CAMPUS REGISTRATION

Every student is assigned a home campus and is expected to enroll at that campus. At least one half of a student's total semester credits must be in courses offered by his/her home campus. Multiple-campus registration is a procedure for students who want to enroll in courses at more than one Penn State campus in the same semester or session. This arrangement is particularly useful for students who are registered for practicum experiences (other than student teaching) near another Penn State campus and wish to enroll in courses at that campus. When planning a multiple-campus registration, the student should consult with his/her adviser.

FOR STUDENTS IN A MULTI-CAMPUS COLLEGE

Permission is not required. After registering at his/her home campus, the student can register at other campuses within the college. For example, a student in the University College (formerly Commonwealth College) whose home campus is Penn State Beaver registers at Beaver and then may register for additional courses at New Kensington.

FOR STUDENTS NOT ENROLLED IN A MULTI-CAMPUS COLLEGE

Permission of the appropriate college dean or the department offering the course is required.

Student Action

  1. Register for at least one half of your total semester credits at your home campus.

  2. Use the Schedule of Courses to select courses to be scheduled at the secondary Penn State campus where enrollment is desired.

  3. Complete a registration drop/add form listing the courses desired at the secondary campus.

  4. Take the form to the Registrar's office at the secondary campus. This office gives students information on obtaining permission and processes the registration once permission is received.

For further information on multiple-campus registration, contact the Registrar's office. For a statement of Penn State's multiple-campus registration policy and procedures, consult the Academic Administrative Policies and Procedures Manual, C-2, section 12.

The University may make changes in policies, procedures, educational offerings, and requirements at any time. Please consult a Penn State academic adviser for more detailed information.
