University Undergraduate Advising Handbook

The Schreyer Honors College is Penn State's University-wide undergraduate honors program. Baccalaureate degree-seeking students in all of Penn State's academic colleges and the Division of Undergraduate Studies may simultaneously be members of the Schreyer Honors College and pursue a broad set of opportunities for study, research, and scholarly exploration. The mission of the Schreyer Honors College is to promote academic excellence, a global perspective, leadership development and civic engagement.

Students typically can apply for admission to the Schreyer Honors College through one of two routes: 1.) a separate application prior to their first year or 2.) an application approved by their major department anytime after they complete one full semester at Penn State, provided they still have four or more semesters remaining.

Honors courses, designated with H, M, T, and U suffixes, are incorporated into requirements for students in the Schreyer Honors College.

Senate Policy 65-00 and M-11 in the Academic Administrative Policies and Procedures Manual provides detailed information on Schreyer Honors College admission, retention, and graduation procedures.
