Counselor Education (CN ED) 100

puzzle cube Counselor Education 100 (CN ED 100), “Effective Career Decision-Making,” is a three-credit course designed to help students learn how to make effective decisions about majors and careers by teaching specific skills in the decision-making process. CN ED 100 is taught by staff from Career Services and is recommended for students with second- through fifth-semester standing.

Students enrolled in CN ED 100 typically use DISCOVER (a Web-based career assessment) and take other inventories of their interests, abilities, values, and personality. They also learn what factors affect decision making in general and career planning in particular. Guest speakers and small group discussions and presentations provide additional support. Required readings present the theories of decision making, and assignments are geared specifically to each student's background and experiences as they relate to these theories and to their out-of-class research.

Additional information about CN ED 100 is available from Career Services at each campus.
