Now that the new academic year is underway, how do you plan to improve your advising? What changes would you like to make? What new strategies, tools, or techniques are you hoping to use? What new advising philosophies might you adopt? Why are you planning to change and what results are you hoping to achieve? What is your opinion?

Working previously, and at another institution, as a pre-college adviser for several years, I hope to gain invaluable experience on the other end of the advising realm ... working with current university students on focusing on their academic goals and staying in college. Currently, I am participating in an academic advising certification program that seems to be helping make the transition easier.
