  Topic from August 2004
We've all seen and read institutional and departmental mission statements, but recently the editors received an e-mail that included a personal mission statement in the sender's signature block:

“My mission, as an academic advisor, is to educate students in the management of their academic affairs.”

Do you have a personal/professional mission statement, either tacit or explicit? If so, what is yours? If not, how would you develop your own mission statement and what would it be? What's your response?

  Your Responses

leaf  My mission statement is purely personal . . . although it touches all aspects of my life . . . it is “Experience Joy . . . Live Out Loud.”

Dana Quenville, Fanshawe College, London, Ontario, Canada, August 23
