Concentration Crisis

Vaughn Edelson, Brown University, class of 2007

“What happens when you love everything—except your major?”

That's the question that Vaughn Edelson, a recent graduate from Brown University with a concentration (major) in biology, ponders in an article she wrote for Brown's alumni magazine. The editors of The Mentor thought our that readers might appreciate Ms. Edelson's reflections on being indecisive, searching for her passion, and questioning the value of her generalist education. Her article, titled “Concentration Crisis,” can be found in the July/August 2007 issue of  Brown Alumni Magazine.*
