The Mentor is available only on the Web and without cost, so a subscription to the journal is not necessary or possible. However, because The Mentor is a living journal whose articles, Advising Forum topics, readers' responses, and new features are being added on a continual basis, our readers may want to know when new material has been added to the journal.
There are three primary ways for our readers to find out about new material in the journal:
- Check the Updates page regularly.
The Updates page is a chronological listing of the most recent changes to the journal, with links to each of the new or updated Web pages. The Updates page also displays the date that the reader last visited the page. A link to the page can be found in the journal's table of contents.
- Sign up for our free update service.
By signing up for this service, readers will receive an e-mail once a month with information about the new Advising Forum topic for the month, the number of Forum responses received to date, recently published articles, and upcoming articles.
- Subscribe to our RSS news feed.

If you use an RSS news reader, you can subscribe to The Mentor's news feed and receive automatic announcements about updates to the journal as they happen.
