You can start with any one of the questions listed below and use the Web resources to help you answer the question. Eventually, though, you may want to investigate all of these questions. As an alternative, you may want to start instead with a step-by-step approach. The choice is yours.
How do my interests, abilities, and other personal characteristics relate to majors? What majors are available that relate to my interests? What courses will I have to take? Will I be interested in the required courses? Will I be able to get good grades in the required courses? What requirements will I have to meet to enter a college or a major? What careers will the majors I'm considering lead to? What's the best major for the career I want? What's the predicted job availability, salary, etc. for the careers I'm considering? What majors will prepare me for further education (medical school, law school, graduate school, etc.)? How can I balance all the factors that are important to me in choosing a major? What are some other resources I can use to learn more about majors and careers? |
