Registration and Drop/Add Instructions
If you've already discussed your schedule with an adviser, follow the instructions below to register or drop/add.
To register or to add a course, you'll need to look up the six-digit schedule number for each course in the Schedule of Courses.
Using eLion (available 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m.)
- Go to eLion and click on Students.
- Log in using your Penn State user ID and password.
- Click on Drop/Add or Registration.
- Select the appropriate semester or session and click on Submit.
To register for your courses, enter the schedule numbers for up to six courses in the Schedule No: boxes and click on Continue. If all of the courses you requested are available, you'll receive a confirmation message. If not all of the courses are available, an error or warning message will appear with further instructions.
To add a course, type the course schedule number in the Schedule No: box and click on Adjust registration. If the course is not added to your schedule, an error or warning message will appear.
To drop a course, click to darken the circle next to the schedule number of the course that you want to drop and click on Adjust registration. If the course is not dropped from your schedule, an error or warning message will appear.
To drop and add courses at the same time, click to darken the circle next to the schedule number of the course that you want to drop, type the schedule number of the course you want to add in the Schedule No: box, and click on Adjust registration. If the courses cannot be dropped and added simultaneously, an error or warning message will appear.
To verify your registration or drop/add, click on E-mail schedule. A copy of your schedule will be sent to your Penn State e-mail account.

If you have problems using these registration or drop/add procedures, contact the department offering the course, the Registrar's office, or an academic adviser.
