Commission Reports: Academic Advising News June 2001 The Technology in Advising Commission is eagerly preparing for the Ottawa national conference in October. Members of our commission steering committee reviewed more than 35 technology- related conference proposals, identifying five for commission sponsorship and recommending others for concurrent, discussion or poster sessions. We look forward to another national conference with some terrific advising technology topics and sessions. Several commission liaisons to various regions have been identified, with some already representing the commission at their regional conferences. These liaisons include:
Our thanks to Tim Young, University of Florida, for coordinating our liaison effort. Please contact either Tim (tsy@ufl.edu) or me if you wish to serve as a commission liaison or as an associate liaison within your region. For more on our commission liaison project, see http://www.psu.edu/dus/ncta/liaisons.htm. The 4th annual Electronic Publication Awards (EPA) process is well underway, with sixteen nominations submitted by the March deadline. Our EPA review committee expects to complete its evaluation of all entries early this summer. Award winners will be announced and recognized in Ottawa as part of the annual Awards Ceremony program. See our commission web site at http://www.psu.edu/dus/ncta/epa2001b.htm for more information.
