Connected for Life

Nearly 400 student volunteers work year-round to make #PSUHomecoming meaningful, a time to celebrate tradition and instill pride in every member of the Penn State community.

Lara Spencer, coanchor of "Good Morning America," will be returning to Happy Valley as the Homecoming 2014 Grand Marshal.

“The Homecoming Executive Committee had no problem making the selection for Penn State Homecoming Grand Marshal,” said Madison Benfield, alumni relations director. “We chose Lara because she is a positive influence on millions.”

The Homecoming Executive Committee began the selection process earlier this year, searching for a Penn State alumnus who continues to positively represent Penn State since their time at the University.

Homecoming Parade and Ice Cream Social

The annual Homecoming Parade brings together students, alumni, faculty, and staff members from the Penn State community through a procession down the University Park campus and downtown State College area. Many members of our community travel long distances to participate in the parade, and so we celebrate them with an Ice Cream Social from 1 to 4 p.m. on September 26 in the Hintz Alumni Center.  At 6 p.m. on September 26, spectators gather for the Homecoming Parade, which travels through the University Park campus and downtown State College.
