Penn State FTCAP - Step 1: Educational Planning Survey (EPS)

Step 1: Survey

Your first FTCAP step is to complete an Educational Planning Survey (EPS). This survey is conducted to help FTCAP advisers prepare to discuss your educational plans with you during your FTCAP Advising Day. The survey is completed online and should take only 15-20 minutes of your time.

The Educational Planning Survey consists of multiple-choice questions about:

Your main reason for attending college
Your reasons for choosing Penn State
Your choice of major
Your estimated grade-point average at the end of your first year at Penn State
The number of hours a week you expect to study at Penn State

You must complete the Educational Planning Survey before starting the online placement tests. Once you complete the survey, you will be forwarded to the online placement tests; however, you can take the tests at a later date if you wish. The EPS and placement tests must be completed by the deadline indicated on your FTCAP postcard or e-mail.
