What if I get disconnected during the tests?

While we hope that no one will experience technical difficulty while taking the tests, glitches of various kinds do sometimes affect network connections. At times, if you remain relatively inactive on your computer for a while, your Internet service provider may disconnect you. While this does not happen often, it can be frustrating if it occurs. If you are disconnected while filling out an answer to a test question, your answers to all of the questions you have completed will be saved in our system. To continue the tests, log back in to this Web site within a few minutes of being disconnected (http://www.psu.edu/ftcap/webtest/) and click "Log Back In."

If you try to reconnect and continue to experience problems, or if you are unable to log back in to the Web site within 20 minutes (for example, if a power outage has occurred), you will need to contact the FTCAP Web Testing Helpline (814-865-8270) or l-ftcap-tech@lists.psu.edu within 24 hours of the next business day* to obtain permission to log back in.

* Business days are Monday - Friday.
