NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. — The Penn State Altoona softball team had five of its student-athletes voted to the All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference team as the league released its postseason awards on Tuesday, May 14.
Catcher Cameryn Feathers, of Martinsburg; third baseman Hanna Lauck, of Bellefonte; and outfielder Brooke Colledge, of Everett, were all voted to the first team of the All-AMCC squad. First baseman Gianna Hoppel, of Lewistown, and second baseman Alyssa Fisher, of Lock Haven, were both second-team selections.
Feathers, the 2024 AMCC Preseason Player of the Year, started all 35 games for the Lions this season and set team single-season records for batting average (.518) and on-base percentage (.568). She led the AMCC this season in hits (58), batting average (.518), on-base percentage (.568), and slugging percentage (.786) while also ranking second in home runs (6), fourth in runs scored (36), runs batted in (33), total bases (88), and stolen bases (14), 10th in walks drawn (12), 11th in triples (3), and 26th in doubles (6). Behind the plate, Feathers threw out six attempted base stealers, the second-most in the conference. During the season, she was named the AMCC Player of the Week on March 11.
This is Feathers’ third career appearance on an All-AMCC team, including her second straight year as a first-team selection.
Lauck played in and started 34 of her team’s 35 games this season. In the AMCC, she is fifth in home runs (3), sixth in batting average (.418), seventh in RBI (29), eighth in hits (46) and total bases (62), ninth in on-base percentage (.458), 11th in slugging percentage (.564), 19th in doubles (7), 23rd in stolen bases (5), 41st in walks drawn (7), and 44th in runs scored (15). Lauck also ranked seventh among all AMCC fielders in double plays turned (7) and 11th in assists (46).
This is Lauck’s second All-AMCC selection in as many years with the team.
Colledge played in and started all 35 of Penn State Altoona’s games this season. In the conference, she ranks seventh in home runs (2), eighth in doubles (9), ninth in runs scored (28), 11th in total bases (59) and sacrifice hits (3), 14th in triples (2), 15th in hits (40), 21st in slugging percentage (.472), 23rd in stolen bases (5), 25th in RBI (18), 33rd in batting average (.320), and 47th in on-base percentage (.341). With the glove, she was 22nd in the league in fielding percentage (.977) and 23rd in putouts (77).
This is the second time that Colledge has been voted to the All-AMCC squad, with both times being first-team selections.
Hoppel played in and started all 35 games with the Lions this season. Among all hitters in the AMCC, she ranks 11th in sacrifice hits (3), 15th in home runs (1), 18th in RBI (21), 22nd in hits (35), 23rd in stolen bases (5), 30th in total bases (41), 39th in batting average (.310), 46th in slugging percentage (.363), 47th in doubles (3), 49th in runs scored (14), and 51st in on-base percentage (.336). Hoppel also led the conference in put outs (228) and double plays turned (13) while being 10th in fielding percentage (.992).
This is Hoppel’s third time appearing on an All-AMCC team in her three years with the Lions.
Fisher played in and started all 35 games this season. In the AMCC, she ranks third in triples (5), fourth in hits (52) and doubles (11), fifth in total bases (79), runs scored (34) and slugging percentage (.622), seventh in batting average (.409) and home runs (2), 14th in on-base percentage (.436), 21st in sacrifice hits (2), and 23rd in stolen bases (5). With the glove, Fisher is 10th in the AMCCC in double plays turned (4), 21st in fielding percentage (.981), 27th in putouts (72), and 31st in assists (31).
This is Fisher’s third time on an All-AMCC team in her three-year career with the Lions.
Penn State Altoona softball finished the season with an 18-17 overall record, including a 9-7 mark in the AMCC that placed the team fourth in the league standings.
