Tips
Visit University Park Campus before you enroll! You'll feel more comfortable and less hassled once you become familiar with the layout of campus and the locations of buildings, services, and helpful people. Here are some tips to consider as you plan your visit:
Most University offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Although some offices are open from noon to 1:00 p.m., most office staff are unavailable then. If you're looking for specific information from a University office, it's wise to plan a weekday trip and to schedule an appointment.
The major apartment rental offices are open Monday through Friday and about half of them have limited Saturday hours. If you're looking for an apartment on a Saturday, begin your search no later than 9:00 a.m.
For information on the annual Housing Fair, please contact the Office of Off-Campus Living at (814) 865-2346. Many of the rental agencies and apartment owners in State College are represented at the fair.
The HUB hours are 8:00 a.m. to midnight, Sunday through Thursday and weekends 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. for the top two floors. The basement is open 24-hours a day during semesters. Between semesters the hours vary.
Places To Visit
If you have questions about your major or want to know more about the offerings in your college, a weekday visit to your college Academic Information Center, dean's office, or academic department will be helpful.
Both Shields Building and Boucke Building house several offices which you may want to visit. If you want to pay your bill or ask questions about it, visit the Bursar's Office, 103 Shields. Your questions about on-campus housing can be answered at the Assignment Office, 201 Johnston Commons. If you want an official copy of your transcript, visit the Registrar's Office, 112 Shields Building. Advising transcript copies can be obtained through eLion, from your college advising center or from the Registrar's office.
Student financial aid concerns are handled by the Office of Student Aid, 314 Shields. This office processes requests for loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships. The office is open for public inquiries from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Visit the Student Aid Web site at www.psu.edu/studentaid for information or to submit questions via email. The Office of Student Aid Web site also serves as a resource for wage-payroll opportunities.
