Adult Learner Programs
210 Boucke Building, 863-7378
Welcome to University Park. If you're an adult returning to higher education, or beginning college after working or raising a family, Student Affairs would like to provide a network of support throughout your educational journey. Whether you are returning full time or part-time, attend day or evenings classes, we want you to utilize our valuable resources, meet other adult students, make time for new experiences and cultivate a sense of belonging at Penn State.
Information and Referrals
Whether you are concerned about admission, child care, financial aid, housing, registration, University policies or procedures, we can provide referral to the appropriate University or Community resource.
Adult learners are encouraged to attend a series of focused discussions that can support personal and career goals. Come and enhance your experience by opening a dialog around topics like budgeting, financial aid, time management, e-portfolio building, career services and education abroad. Learn how to improve these practical areas and how their everyday application impacts the life of an adult learner.
Resource Room and Stay and Study Space
These locations support your desire to deepen your educational commitment, provide some much needed down time and quiet spaces to study. Adult learners are welcome to hang out between classes, relax, or use the computers located in 203 Boucke Building.
Orientation, Mix and Mingle Events, and Other Programs
Each semester, orientation programs, Winter Welcome, Summerfest and Welcome Week Events are hosted for new undergraduate students including adult learners, first-year, change of campus and transfer students. You are encouraged to attend, meet new students, learn about resources, obtain your ID card, and learn about using elion.
Adult Learner Advocacy
We are willing to advocate on behalf of all adult learners and provide a voice for your concerns. Adult Learners @ Penn State, a student organization, www.clubs.psu.edu/up/adultlearnersps is a valuable networking opportunity, a forum for discussion about adults transitioning in the classroom, locating tutors and navigating the Penn State Community.
