Buses

Greyhound and Fullington Trailways bus lines serve State College. The bus station is located off Atherton Street, across the street from the Walker Building and the Campus Loop and Centre Line bus stops. At peak traveling times, such as Fridays, holidays, vacations, and semester breaks, reservations for seats are available and usually necessary. Rates vary between the two lines, so compare. You can reach Greyhound at 238-7971 and Fullington Trailways at 238-1100.

Trains

Train travel isn't very convenient from State College. The nearest stations are in Lewistown, Tyrone, Huntingdon, and Altoona. The Pennsylvanian runs from Philadelphia, with stops at Paoli, Lancaster, Harrisburg, Lewistown, Huntingdon, Tyrone, Altoona, Johnstown, Latrobe, Greensburg, and Pittsburgh. Greyhound and Fullington Trailways provide connecting bus service from State College to the train stations in Harrisburg and Philadelphia.

Airport

The University Park Airport is located approximately six miles north of the University Park campus. Commercial air service to and from the State College area is provided by US Airways Express (800-428-4322) with service to Philadelphia International Airport; United Express (800-241-6522) with service to the Dulles International Airport at Washington, D.C.; Delta (800-225-2525) flies to Detroit Metro Airport. Connecting flights are available from these three major hubs.
