Results Achieved to Date

  • ExpectedResults: As of March 15, 2009, all wound cultures will be sent to Mt. Nittany Medical Center for processing. Courier pick up time has been changed from 10 am to 4:30 with the ability to request an AM pickup if any cultures are collected after 4:30. Delay will be 12 hours instead of 36. Preliminary reports are available and will be scanned into the medical record. This will result in better continuity of care by making this information available to other clinicians who may be performing follow-up in a clinician’s absence.
Nov 2009 analysis indicates most culture completed within 3 days. There is a delay in the report being available on the health record within the same time frame. Lab working with Health Information Management to find a solution
