Cindy & Jodi
Can we shorten the time it takes to supply a prospective graduate student with all admissions forms, review and document the returned and completed application packet, then, notify student of the decision? And can we decentralize the graduate admissions process which would allow departmental flexibility but also maintain centralized coordination? Click here to learn how this process improvement has occurred.
Benefits

Cindy and Jodi's CQI team is proud to report the following list of benefits that resulted from the team's improvement process initiative:

- Established a new admissions process that allowed graduate programs to have increased control and flexibility in admitting applicants but also maintained centralized control at the Graduate School.

- Established new and simpler application procedures making it less cumbersome for applicants to apply. Applicants can now correspond directly with their intended program of study. In addition, three methods of applying for admission were provided to applicants (paper, downloadable, on-line).

- Established a new system for ordering and receiving graduate school applications for graduate programs. Redesigned current graduate school application making it more convenient for mailing. Customized graduate school application for branch campuses.

- Streamlined the process for reviewing and entering application information which resulted in decreased entry time for application data. Eliminated delay and duplication of effort and materials in both the Graduate School and graduate programs.

- Developed new and simpler admission codes and ISIS (student system) screens. Provided update capabilities on ISIS to graduate program staff assistants; thus, eliminating duplicate data entry for the Graduate School.
