Map the Process

In this step you make a map that shows the current steps in the process you have identified. Consider the order of steps from beginning to end.

Questions to ask:

1. What are the steps you go through as you provide that product or service?
2. What is the order of steps from beginning to end?
3. Is there a time between the steps where nothing is happening? (This is called a wait state.)

You may not know all the steps in the process and may need input from others to determine the steps. Talk to others who may be able to help you.
