3.5 Increase International Student Enrollments (Year 1: 2009-2010)
Penn State has long enjoyed a robust international graduate student enrollment. The goal of this strategy is to maintain graduate student enrollment while increasing international undergraduate enrollment. Recruiting efforts have included enhancing Penn State’s virtual presence through a new Web site and student targeted efforts such as blogs and chats. The visa documentation process has been streamlined, an iLeap (International Learning Edge Academic Program) unit has been designed specifically for international students, and surveys and focus groups have been used to get student feedback. Workshops are offered to increase faculty and staff awareness of intercultural issues.
