7.2 Better Utilize Instructional and Research Facilities (Year 1: 2009-2010)
Two committees were formed in consultation with the Provost and Vice President and Dean for Undergraduate Education to review scheduling of instructional space. One issue immediately identified was the shortage of technology classrooms. In spring 2010 the President made special funding available to add instructional technology to 27 University Park general purpose classrooms; as many rooms as possible will be completed by the fall 2010 semester. An additional recommendation is to determine institutional priorities for scheduling institutional space. A team is being assembled to engage the University community in a large-scale effort to overhaul scheduling policies, practices, and processes.
