7.7 Promote Continuous Quality Improvement and Reward Innovation (Year 1: 2009-2010)

Penn State’s quality improvement and innovation journey began in 1991.

• In 2010, 60 teams with over 600 members, representing 3 campuses, 7 colleges, and 10 support units, were recognized
• In 2011, 47 innovation and improvement teams with approximately 500 members, representing 1 campus college, 2 University College campuses, 5 University Park colleges, and 9 support units, were recognized.
• In 2012, 33 innovation and improvement teams with over 200 members, representing 2 campus colleges, 6 University Park colleges, and 8 support units, were recognized. In March 2012 Penn State reached the milestone of 1000 teams recognized since the continuous quality improvement program began in 1991.
