Lisa Brown is the director of the
Pennsylvania Space Grant Consortium,
a NASA-funded research, education and outreach program at the Pennsylvania
State University with affiliates across Pennsylvania. She is responsible for
the overall direction and leadership of the Consortium, including setting
policy, evaluating Consortium projects, monitoring budgets, and collaboratively
defining new directions.
She also teaches a
first-year seminar in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences.
She received her undergraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering from the
University of Colorado at Boulder and her Doctorate in Geosciences from Penn State
University where she worked with Dr. James Kasting using computer models to
study the chemistry and climate of the primitive atmospheres of Earth and Mars.
Lisa's favorite pastimes are
yoga,
reading, gardening, hiking, and spending time with family
and friends and kitty cats.
