Stafford Loans

If you are a first-time borrower:

• Complete loan entrance counseling on eLion and e-sign your Federal Direct Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note.

If you have previously borrowed a Stafford Loan, review information for continuing borrowers.

Alternative Loans

• Before you submit your application to an alternative educational lender, be sure you have asked your lender essential questions.
• Return your application/promissory note directly to the lender.
• After you submit your loan application, contact the lender for information regarding the approval of your loan.
• Access your Student Aid Summary on eLion to monitor whether or not your loan has been processed by the Office of Student Aid.
