***You must begin working by the end of the second week of fall classes or your fall/spring award will be canceled, unless you contact the Office of Student Aid prior to that date to discuss your intent to work.***

The term "work-study" does not mean that you will be given opportunities to study during work hours. Most work-study employers consider work-study positions as actual job experience and will expect you to contribute to the work environment.

As with any job, if you wish to discontinue employment, notify your supervisor at least two weeks in advance.

Wages earned through Federal Work-Study are reported as earned income on the FAFSA for the subsequent year and can be deducted as "Title IV exclusions."
