Office of Student Aid : Applying for Student Aid 2007-08 : 3-Step Application Process : Confirm FAFSA Information
Step 2: Confirm Your FAFSA on the Web Information
Your Student Aid Report
The Verification Process
Your Student Financial Aid Award Notification
Carefully read the FAFSA Follow-Up section on the FAFSA Web site.
When your FASFA has been processed by the Department of Education, you will be able to access your electronic SAR on the FAFSA Follow-up Section by selecting View and Print your Student Aid Report.
Note to AOL users: The U.S. Department of Education E-mail Notification of Student Aid Report (SAR) will contain a URL specifically for AOL users. In the past, many AOL users were unable to select the link provided in the e-mail because the URL was not formatted in a manner recognized by AOL.
Make sure the correct Penn State federal school code is listed on your SAR acknowledgment. The school code releases your FAFSA information to Penn State.
If necessary, submit any corrections online to the Department of Education through the FAFSA on the Web.
Keep a copy of your corrections, if applicable, in your student financial aid folder.
When Penn State receives your FAFSA information electronically, the Office of Student Aid will review it and contact you if more information is needed. Respond promptly to any requests from the Office of Student Aid for additional information.
Penn State University participates in the Federal Department of Education's Quality Assurance Program, which allows us to establish our own verification criteria and determine which student files must be verified based on certain error-prone areas. Please do not submit verification documents unless they are specifically requested by the Penn State Office of Student Aid.
