Next Steps to Summer Aid for Current Students

At Penn State, the academic year begins with the fall semester and ends with the summer session(s).

If you received the maximum award from a particular student aid program during the fall 2007 and spring 2008 semesters, you may not be eligible for additional funds from that aid program during the summer 2008 session(s).

Federal Direct PLUS Loans and private alternative loans may be good options for parents (if applicable) and students during the summer session(s).

Complete the following steps in order and by the method described for error-free processing of summer 2008 student financial aid.

Steps 1 - 2    Steps 3 - 4    Steps 5 - 6    Steps 7 - 8    Steps 9 - 10

Step 1:

Schedule all the courses you intend to take during summer session(s).

Note: If you are completing fewer than 12 credits, finalize your schedule on eLion and then make sure to check the box located below your schedule to indicate that you plan to enroll for fewer than 12 credits.

Step 2:

Submit the 2007-08 FAFSA on the Web by June 30, 2008 (if you have not done so already).
