Next Steps to Summer Aid for Current Students
It is important to complete these steps in the order shown and by the method described to ensure error-free processing of summer 2008 student financial aid.

If you are a dependent student, discuss summer Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan with your parents, if interested.
- Review Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan information.
- Before your parent applies for the Federal Direct PLUS Loan, you should apply for Summer Federal Work-Study, a Summer Pennsylvania State Grant, or a Summer Federal Direct Stafford Loan, if eligible.
- Ask your parents to apply for a summer Direct PLUS Loan, if interested.
- The maximum PLUS Loan available is your cost of attendance less all other student financial aid listed on your Student Aid Summary on eLion for summer session(s).
- The loan term dates for a summer Federal Direct PLUS Loan are May 2008–August 2008.
Consider summer private alternative loan financing, if needed.
If you are ineligible for federal student financial aid or have remaining financial need after pursuing federal student financial aid options, you may need to consider alternative loans through private lenders.
