Next Steps to Summer Aid for First-Year Students
It is important to complete the following steps in order for error-free processing of your summer 2008 student financial aid.

Step 3:
Review summer Federal Pell Grant eligibility information.
Access Federal Pell Grant information.
After Penn State receives your 2007-08 FAFSA on the Web and your acceptance fees for summer 2008, the Office of Student Aid will determine your eligibility for a summer Federal Pell Grant, as well as other aid, and notify you if you are eligible.
First-year students starting during the summer session generally take 6-7 credits, which is considered half-time enrollment. The maximum Pell Grant for half-time enrollment is $1078.
Step 4:
Apply for summer Federal Work-Study, if interested.
Note: To be considered for Work-Study, you must answer "yes" to the question on the FAFSA (Q26) regarding interest in the Federal Work-Study Program.

After Penn State has received your 2007-08 FAFSA on the Web and your acceptance fees for summer 2008, the Office of Student Aid will determine your eligibility for summer Federal Work-Study and will notify you if you are eligible.
Summer awards are a maximum of $1,500 for undergraduate students.
If you are interested in the State Work-Study Program, awarded to Pennsylvania residents by Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA), you can obtain an application at the PHEAA Web site.
