Student Financial Aid Notification Information
Each Penn State student who completes the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on the Web and meets student financial aid eligibility requirements will receive a financial aid notification from the Office of Student Aid. Your financial aid notification will list all student financial aid programs (loans, grants, Work-Study, and scholarships) for which you qualify.
First-year, transfer, and new graduate students
- Our office will begin to mail paper student financial aid notifications in mid-March.
- You will receive a notification if you have been offered admission to the University and we have received your 2008-09 FAFSA information.
- If you submitted your 2008-09 FAFSA more than four weeks ago and have not received a notification, make sure you have released your FAFSA information to Penn State and contact the Office of Student Aid.
- We will continue to mail paper notifications regularly as we receive FASFA information.
Returning undergraduate and graduate students
- If you submitted a FAFSA, you will receive an e-mail message in your Penn State e-mail account beginning in mid- to late June (and continuing regularly thereafter) notifying you that your student financial aid notification is accessible via the Student Aid Summary on eLion.
- If you are returning home during the summer, remember that you can access your Penn State e-mail account through Penn State WebMail.
