Apply for Student Aid
The FAFSA on the Web is the only application you need to apply for federal and state student financial aid at Penn State.
To be considered for student aid at Penn State, you must complete the FAFSA and meet student aid eligibility requirements.
Complete the FAFSA on the Web on the Department of Education's secure Web site. The FAFSA on the Web is:
- Secure--FAFSA on the Web provides a secure environment to enter your financial information.
- Easy--FAFSA on the Web guides you step-by-step through the application process.
- Less error-prone--Edits are in place within the FAFSA on the Web that make mistakes less likely.
- Fast--FAFSA on the Web processes two to three weeks faster than the paper FAFSA.
Before you complete the FAFSA on the Web you should request a Federal Student Aid PIN (Personal Identification Number), if you do not already have one. You will need your PIN to electronically sign your FAFSA.
If you are a dependent student, your parent will also need to request a PIN to complete and electronically sign the parent section of the FAFSA on the Web.
Using your PIN, you can also access and complete the FAFSA Corrections on the Web.
