Science, Mathematics and Reseach for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship for Service Program [Top]

Eligibility:

• United States Citizen
• 18 years of age or older as of August 1, 2010
• Able to participate in summer internships at Department of Defense laboratories
• Willing to accept post-graduate employment with the Department of Defense
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 as calculated by the SMART application
• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in one of the applicable disciplines
• Undergraduate applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and have a high school diploma. Current high school students are not eligible to apply
• Graduate students can be either currently enrolled in an accredited college or university or awaiting notification of admission to such

Eligibility:

• Completed one semester of the college junior year or college senior or graduate level student
• Pursuing or planning to pursue a degree in engineering, biology, chemistry, business administration or other field which may lead to a career in the water supply industry
• Attending a Pennsylvania college or maintain a permanent residence in Pennsylvania
