STEP (Student Transitional Experiences Program) is a new summer program for business and communications students making the junior-year transition to University Park from another Penn State campus. For students at Penn State campuses, STEP is an excellent introduction to the University Park campus. The program also provides students the opportunity to meet and interact with other students making the same transition. The supportive environment that this program offers makes the transition to the University Park campus not only a seamless one but also an enjoyable experience.
Why STEP is a unique experience:
• You complete two required courses before beginning your first semester at University Park
• The two small linked classes, called a pride, are unique because of the close collaboration between the professors who teach them
• You become well acquainted with other students making the same transition
• You are placed in groups that attend the two classes together
• You learn about University Park support services
• You accelerate your time to degree
