Edward R. Hintz, Jr.
President, Hintz Capital Management, Inc.
Edward R. Hintz, Jr. is President of Hintz Capital Management, Inc. He previously served as President for HHR Asset Management, LLC, a private money management firm specializing in investment management for individuals, which he founded in 1974. He is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts.
In 1959, Mr. Hintz graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Business Administration and received an M.B.A. from Harvard University in 1963. As a Penn State student he served as president of the Interfraternity Council and head manager of the football team. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta, Parmi Nous, S Club, and Lion's Paw.
In 1982, Mr. Hintz was named an Alumni Fellow by the Smeal College of Business and a Distinguished Alumnus of the University in 1987. Mr. Hintz chaired The National Development Council; was vice chairman of The Campaign for Penn State, our first capital campaign; headed the volunteer fundraising effort for the Bryce Jordan Center and served on the Paterno Library campaign committee. He previously served as chairman of Penn State's second major capital campaign, A Grand Destiny: The Penn State Campaign.
Mr. Hintz was elected to the Board of Trustees as a business and industry trustee for a three-year term in July 1994, and has been reelected for succeeding terms. He was elected vice chairman of the Board for 1998-2000, and served as chair from 2001-2003. He was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center for a three-year term beginning July 2008.
