Adam J. Taliaferro

Attorney at Law, Duane Morris LLP

Adam Joseph Taliaferro was elected to the Board of Trustees by the alumni for a three-year term beginning July 1, 2012.

Adam is an attorney at the law firm of Duane Morris LLP in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He is an associate and represents clients in a variety of employment and gaming matters.

A 2005 graduate of Penn State University's College of the Liberal Arts, Adam earned his B.S. in Labor and Industrial Relations with a Minor in Dispute Management and Resolution.

While at Penn State, Adam suffered a career ending spinal-cord injury during his fifth game as a true freshman on the football team. As a result of the injury, he was told that he had only a 3% chance of ever walking again. Despite the odds, he was able to overcome his paralysis and walk out of the hospital in four months. Less than a year after his injury, Adam jogged onto the Beaver Stadium turf in front of a record crowd of more than 109,000, leading the Nittany Lions onto the field.

Adam is the founder of the Adam Taliaferro Foundation, which continues to provide emotional, financial and educational support to student-athletes who suffer catastrophic head or spinal injuries. He was also the honorary chairman for the 2002 Special Olympics Summer Games.

Adam is a lifetime member of the Penn State Alumni Association and recently served as Penn State's 2011 Homecoming Grand Marshal.

Mr. Taliaferro was elected by the alumni to serve a three year term beginning July 2012.
