Edward P. Zemprelli
Mr. Zemprelli, a practicing attorney, formerly a partner in the law firm of Zemprelli, Clipper and Campedel, is retired from the Pennsylvania State Senate having served as both Senate Majority and Minority Leader. He is a 1945 graduate of Penn State with a B.A. in liberal arts and received his LL.B. from the University of Pittsburgh Law School (1950). Admitted to the Allegheny County Bar, he began private practice as an attorney in 1950. Before his election to the General Assembly, he served as solicitor to the City of Clairton for eight years and as chairman of the Democratic Party of Clairton for four years.
Prior to his election to the Senate, Mr. Zemprelli served six years in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
In 1978 Mr. Zemprelli was appointed by the governor to serve on the Board of Trustees, was reappointed in 1995 and served until 1996.
Mr. Zemprelli received the status of Trustee Emeritus in January 1997.
