These policies and rules are published for the guidance of students and faculty and apply specifically to undergraduate students of The Pennsylvania State University.
Procedural details may differ among the several campuses and other locations. Academic policies and procedures for graduate students can be found in the Graduate Degree Programs Bulletin.
Increased student involvement in academic affairs also will yield desirable benefits for the University, both as an institution and as an academic community.
These academic policies and procedures apply to all undergraduate students enrolled in or seeking admission to credit courses and are published for students, faculty, and staff, all of whom are held responsible for reading and adhering to these policies and procedures.
Students are classified according to the degree they seek, the number of credits successfully completed, GPA achieved, grade point deficiency, and the number or requirements fulfilled. In order to be eligible for certain financial aid, students are required to complete 26 credits with grades of D or better, each year to maintain 'satisfactory academic progress.'
