New Accountability Web Site Brings PSU To Your Desktop
Nov. 6, 2000
University Park, Pa. --. Penn State’s Budget Office has developed a Web page at << http://www.psu.edu/ur/accountability.html >> where readers will find links to areas of major importance to Pennsylvanians and others who want to know more about the scope, mission, and operations of the University.

The Web site includes information on the Penn State Budget, the new Fact Book, annual crime statistics by campus and Penn State’s Common Data Set, which is a standard set of information used primarily by publishers of admissions guides and others seeking basic information about colleges and universities.

The Common Data Set has been developed over a number of years as a collaborative effort among the College Board, U.S. News and World Report, publishers and a large number of colleges and universities. Much of the information included in the Common Data Set is taken directly from reports that all institutions submit annually to the federal government. The 1999-2000 statistics posted on this Web page are organized by campus and include enrollment, tuition, graduation rates and other such information.

The accountability web site also includes Penn State’s articulation agreements with other colleges and universities, which typically are agreements between a particular degree program or campus and nearby colleges and universities. Some involve joint degree programs, some are cross registration programs and some are dual admission agreements. Also listed are articulation agreements now under consideration.
