Penn State Facts Now On-Line
Nov. 2, 2000
University Park, Pa. -- Penn State has developed an on-line, one-stop-resource of all sorts of facts on the University, from budget and finances and alumni activities to student enrollment and Penn State history.
The information is organized in a series of clickable buttons on the main Fact ookWeb page at http://www.budget.psu.edu/factbook/, and each button has many tables and charts on related information. For example, the button for students takes readers to an index of Fall 2000 enrollment charts by location and ethnicity, graduation rates, degrees awarded and tuition. The Web page on alumni includes information on the Penn State Alumni Association and a colorful map and chart on the number of alumni living in Pennsylvania by county.
"The Fact Book will be useful to alumni, prospective students, faculty and staff preparing grant proposals as well as to the general public," says Richard Althouse, University budget officer and member of the Fact Book committee. "The advantage of an electronic Fact Book over a paper publication, is that we can more easily keep it up to date. We look forward to comments from users to help us keep it on track."
Prepared by the University Budget Office, the Center for Quality and Planning, and the Office of University Relations, new information will be added as it becomes available.
