 Joanna Cain To Speak At March 24 Penn State Forum

University Park, Pa — The next Penn State Forum is scheduled for Friday, March 24, at The Nittany Lion Inn, when Joanna M. Cain, professor and chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Penn State College of Medicine, will talk about "Gender-based Medicine: A Fad or a Future."

Cain is currently chair of the Committee for the Study of Ethical Aspects of Human Reproduction for the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics. She is president of the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics and was appointed to the Residency Review Committee for the discipline of Obstretics and Gynecology, this year.

She received her B.S. from the University of Washington and her M.D. from Creighton Medical School.

Modeled after the National Press Club and sponsored by the Penn State Bookstore, the lunchtime series of lectures is an offering of the Penn State Faculty Staff Club and is open to the public. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and the program, including the lecture and questions from the audience, begins at noon.

The Next Penn State Forum will be held Friday, March 31, at the Penn State Conference Center and Hotel. Michael D. Olsen, professor of strategic management at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and director of research for the International Hotel and Restaurant Association, will speak on "The Learning Environment of Tomorrow, what the Learner will Expect, and Implications for Institutions of Higher Education
