New E-Mail Notification To Increase Access To Grades
March 16, 2000
University Park, Pa. Penn State is adding a new service called Grades Update that notifies students via e-mail when their grades are available and provides them with a link to Get Grades, a secure Web site where they may view and print their grades.James Wager, University Registrar, describes this service as a fast, easy way to access grades from any location at any time of the day.
"Grades Update will provide students with even more options," says Wager. "Its part of our ongoing commitment to improve service and reduce administrative overhead."
Students have several ways to get their grades using either a secure Penn State Web site or the Get Grades Web site or by calling a toll-free number. Students may also request the Registrars Office to mail a grade report. Additional information on available services is available online by going to www.psu.edu/registrar and clicking on "Grades."
This service is made possible through the Universitys partnership with Student Advantage, a company that provides information services for students enrolled at hundreds of schools across the country. Student Advantage maintains the Get Grades Web site.
Most students will not receive Grades Update until the end of the spring semester, but a few students who complete shorter-term classes such as first-year communications seminars or downhill skiing will receive this notification in a few weeks.
