New Penntap Specialist To Help Southwestern Pa. Businesses

University Park, Pa. -- Roger Price recently joined the Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Program (PENNTAP) of Penn State as a senior technical specialist serving southwestern Pennsylvania.
This position is being supported by a partnership between the Electrotechnology Applications Center (ETAC) at Northampton Community College and PENNTAP. Price will be located at the Penn State McKeesport Campus.
As a PENNTAP technical specialist, he will help all types of businesses in southwestern Pennsylvania improve their competitiveness by providing free technical assistance and information to help resolve specific technical questions or needs that can be addressed within a limited amount of time, through short-term technical counseling, technical information, and referrals to other expertise, resources, and programs.
In support of ETAC, he will help manufacturers evaluate electric heating, drying and curing technologies that will increase productivity, improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact of their manufacturing processes.
A registered Professional Engineer, Price has 25 years of experience. He has a B.S. in environmental engineering from Cornell University and an M.S. in sanitary engineering from Penn State.
PENNTAP is a federal-state-university partnership for economic development. Serving Pennsylvania businesses statewide since 1965, PENNTAP is one of the nation's first technical assistance programs and has been a model for such programs in many other states and countries.
