McMormick-Musser, Ward To Receive Ralph Dorn Hetzel Award

University Park, Pa. – Catherine McCormick-Musser of Highspire and Graham Ward of the Bahamas will be honored with Ralph Dorn Hetzel Memorial Awards during Penn State’s annual Student Awards Ceremony at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel.
The Hetzel Award is named for Penn State’s tenth president (1926-1947) and recognizes a combination of high scholastic attainment, good citizenship, and participation and leadership in student activities.
McCormick-Musser is a senior majoring in Communications with the Penn State Capital College’s School of Humanities, and editor in chief of The Capital Times student newspaper. In recognition of her leadership on the student publication, she was recently awarded a scholarship and internship from the Patriot-News in Harrisburg, for which she has also been a part-time reporter. She will graduate in May.
Ward will also graduate in May, with a degree in Accounting from the Smeal College of Business Administration. He has held financial internships in New York City, and recently was a team leader in the Deloitte & Touche 13th Annual Penn State Accounting Student Seminar. He plans to return to the Bahamas and be involved in the country’s development through the tourism and banking industries.
